One of the special strengths of Shared Beginnings Reservoir is our range of outdoor learning environments. Children have space to run, climb, dig, build, imagine and connect with nature.

Outdoor play is a vital part of early childhood development. It supports children’s physical strength, coordination, risk assessment, social skills and emotional wellbeing. At Reservoir, our outdoor environments are used as an extension of the classroom, where children can engage in meaningful play-based learning every day.

Whether children are exploring natural textures, working together in sand and water play, caring for plants, balancing, climbing or creating imaginative games with friends, our outdoor spaces provide endless opportunities for learning.

Our dedicated sensory room is a beautiful feature of Shared Beginnings Reservoir. This space supports children to regulate, relax and engage in sensory-rich experiences at their own pace.

For some children, sensory experiences help them feel calm and secure. For others, they support curiosity, focus and confidence. Our educators use this space intentionally to support children’s emotional wellbeing, inclusion and individual needs.
